I'll keep this short and sweet. When you combine a massive TBR list and an obsessive multitasker--the image on the left is the result. And while for some this gorgeous book stack might seem daunting...for me, it's my weekly norm.
There's something for my spirit, for my craft, for my research, for my heart, and a little something for fun.
I've always been a voracious reader--falling asleep with books, keeping a nightstand drawer filled with stylish reading lights for sleepless nights, perusing bookstore aisles for the unexpected, and using mine and my husband's library cards because sometimes there are limits. As I've matured in my reading habitats, I've learned the value of reading not just for the rush of escaping to new, fictitious worlds, but to also nurture my belief in life-long learning, to be a better writer, to explore new genres, to grow spiritually, to see the world with an inclusive viewpoint, and to be challenged. And with each book I finish, I've gone beyond the page, taking with me the people and purpose I encountered on the page.
